In September 2019, my life was spinning out of control. My husband and I had been asked to leave the place we were living. Our relationship was not the best, and I was being negative about everything. My job sucked and I was not happy with any part of my life. My husband suggested that I read The Secret. I hate to read but got the audio book so I could listen to it on my 45 minute commute to and from work.

I listened every day and I started putting it to practice. My life did not change. I thought this was another fake, self-help book. I thought that all these people that shared their stories were being paid to be a part of The Secret and that everything discussed was false.

The real test came in November 2019 when we were trying to buy a home. Due to some past issues with my credit, we were told the bank would not approve our loan, even after being prequalified. I was devastated and that just proved my point, that The Secret did not work. You see! I blamed everything and everyone else. I never looked at myself.

So we moved into a nice 1 bedroom apartment and basically just lived. My career was in shambles. I was not happy at work and my performance started to suffer. Again, not looking at myself, I blamed the Universe for the unhappiness I had at work. My home life was suffering as well but again, this was not my fault.

My husband and I are in our late 40s and early 50s and even though we loved living in an apartment in our 20s, it was not the same anymore. We could hear everything going on above and beside us. My outlet was leaving to go to work each day, even though I hated it.

Then in March of 2020, Covid-19 happened and I was forced to work from home. For the next 6 months, my office was our living room. I could hear every sound the neighbors were making. I hated being at home because I love people and being around people, and this was not the case anymore.

In August we decided it was time to look for our forever home. Our credit had improved so we thought, what the hell, let’s give it a shot. We were preapproved again and our search began. I started listening to The Secret again and this time I really put it into practice. I meditated twice a day and I was full of positive, loving energy. Suddenly my work started to be fun again.

Meanwhile were having no luck in finding a house. I put it out to the Universe that when we walked into our forever home, we would instantly know. We then went to see a home and as we were walking to the door, I noticed it was red. In my vision of our perfect home, I saw myself going through a red door. We entered the home and just standing in the hall, my husband and I looked at each other and said, “This is home.” We toured the home and it was everything that we wanted in our ‘forever home’. We placed an offer on the home and it was accepted by the sellers.

We started the finance process again and then, guess what? There was an issue with our credit.

Our credit had improved but not as much as we thought. Our lender called and asked some questions and then said he would call us on Monday and let us know but it was not looking that good. This is where things changed from the past. I went to my comfy chair and began to listen to The Secret and began to meditate. I asked the Universe to let everything go through, as this was our home. That is not all I did, however. I wrote the address of the home many times in a notebook. When I would meditate, I focused on that house. I did what the book said. I asked, I believed, and I knew we would receive.

Monday came and our lender called us and said it is not as bad as he thought but we still had a long way to go. I did not let that bother me and I stayed focused on the house. We hit many road blocks along the way that made it look like we would not get the financing.

Then on September 4th, I received the email that would change our lives. We had received an email from our lender saying we were approved! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

My husband said he prayed to God, his higher power, to give us this home. I said that prayer constantly, and I would always say ‘thank you’ after every prayer. I told him all about what I had done and we agreed that the law of attraction was what gave us the final approval.

We are firm believers in The Secret! The Universe, my higher power, manifested our home. Our forever home! We have moved on to even bigger and better things to attract in our lives. My husband wants to start a dessert shop online. We have asked and we believe and we know we will receive!
