I last posted about my relationship two years ago. I am very grateful and pleased to say that 2 years down the line we are still very much in love.

In January 2012 I had a planned trip to New York with my family for my mothers 50th birthday. While I was in this amazing city I was greeted by people asking me for help; be it a cigarette or money.

This one day, I was walking to breakfast with the girls. I passed this young man with a cardboard stand asking for money for the homeless. He asked me if I would help him. As I didn’t have any cash I promised him I would return and help him. After breakfast the first thing I did was go to a cash point. I withdrew $10 and went straight back to the man. My sister said I was bonkers to which I simply replied “what I give, I receive back ten fold”.

I was so happy I had helped this man and his charity that I thanked the universe for the remainder of the afternoon.

That evening my boyfriend called from home. He told me the most wonderful news and I will never forget it. His family had a gift for us. A £60,000 gift for us to buy our first home.

Wow. I cried and cried. I am so lucky and truly thankful for my life.
