LondonA staff nurse with two children and a beautiful staffy!
Having always dreamt of working in a reputed cancer hospital in London, I inadvertently found myself working in an area in which I was becoming increasingly de-skilled.
An opportunity arose to apply for a nurses rotation programme (where nurses with a diploma can earn their degree) that would be paid for by the trust. I applied, went for the interview and failed miserably.
On a whim, I contacted the head of school who was impressed with my determination and passion that he decided to set up an interview with one of his colleagues on the ward. I was so excited and couldn’t believe that I had managed to get an interview, but I was still worried that I wouldn’t get the job. It was at this point that The Secret came into my life through a friend of my son.
After reading The Secret, I told myself that not only was a going to get the job, but that I would also get a position on the next rotation programme. I wrote a letter to myself congratulating me on getting the job and the manager saying that she was going to put me on a rotation programme without the need for further interview or testing. I looked at that letter and imagined myself working on the ward every day and thanked the Universe for giving me both the job and a chance to earn my degree.
Imagine my surprise when the manager of the ward – even before the interview took place – told me as I was walking down the corridor, that I had already got the job and I would be starting the rotation programme in October 2012, without the need for further testing, and that this ‘interview’ was in fact just an informal chat!
Thank you to Rhonda Byrne and her team for bringing The Secret into my life and the lives of my children.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
