I am so happy and grateful for Rhonda. I am so grateful for The Secret series of books, and I am so happy and grateful for everyone who shares their Secret Success Stories here. Reading these inspiring stories is easily the best part of my day. Thank you to all of you.
I am an inspirational author and romance novelist and writing is my bliss and my purpose. It is what I am here to do. My personal motto is “I am an author of inspiring, loving, happy, healing stories that find the right people at the right times and bring hope and joy in difficult times.”
Last month, I came across an opportunity to join an anthology, which is a group of writers who each write a book centered on a similar world, town, or theme. The characters from each book appear in the other books, and so on. It sounded like so much fun that I applied for an author position. I knew the general theme, and it sparked the idea for a story.
A week went by, but I heard nothing. I didn’t receive a confirmation email either. I worried that my application hadn’t gone through, so I reached out to another author I knew that was part of the group. She said there were 4 spots left and that I should hear something from them by the next morning.
Another week went by with no word on the position. I wasn’t unhappy though because I was writing the story, anyway. I was having so much fun writing it that it did not even matter whether or not I made the group. The story just flowed, and it made me laugh as I wrote it. I was too busy enjoying the journey to worry about it.
In the third week, I wrote my author friend and told her it looked like I had not made the cut, and that I wished her the best of luck on such a fun project. She responded that the editor had been sick with the flu and had not been able to review the applications yet. I was sorry to hear the editor had been so sick and thanked her for the information. Meanwhile, I kept writing.
Finally, 4 weeks later, after I had completed the draft of my book, I received an email inviting me to join the other 8 authors in the anthology! Imagine how surprised the editor was to find out that my novel was already written, ha!
Having a goal of what you desire is important, but what is even more important is to be grateful for what you have and where you are. To let go of your emotional attachment to any outcome. To live presently and in the moment which eliminates any stress, worry, and depression. Finally and most important is to find the joy in the journey. That is all we’re here to learn. That and to love everything and everyone.
I am so happy and grateful for you.
