Against All Odds, I Was Accepted!

I’m 16 applying The Secret in all aspects of my life. Dream big, believe and receive.

I would like to start by saying that at the time of my story I had no idea about The Secret and the power of the mind and the Universe.

Every year, my high school’s leadership program starts opening applications for new and old members. Only like 10 or 15 people get in, and it’s highly competitive. All the kids that are in there have GPAs higher than you would imagine, are taking a bunch of AP classes, etc.

One day the leadership program held an introductory meeting to explain the requirements, what it’s about, and how to apply. I remember being so intimidated because the room was so crowded, to the point where people were on the floor and outside the room. I saw a bunch of students who were taking hard, advanced classes. The moderator of the club explained how to apply. We must send out an email to all of our teachers with a link that would lead them to answer questions about us. But what made the assignment extremely important was that we had to CC the club moderator in the email.

I thought to myself when I heard that, “Pssh, I got this.” The moderators words still ring in my head “If you do not get this part correct, chances are you will not be in this club.” She then went on and explained how we needed to make a 30 to 45 second video explaining what we loved about the school. We had 3 months to submit the applications.

As I walk out there, I thought to myself “Yeah, I think I got this. Besides, I have a lot of time to do this.” That day I pictured myself wearing the club shirt, and being part of the club. I really wanted it and imagining it made me happy.

Fast forward to the 3 months. I get an email from the club moderator saying I only had 2 or 3 days to do it. I felt some panic and got to work. I quickly start sending the emails, to all my teachers. Once I had sent them, I read the instructions again and to my horror I realized something. I hadn’t put the club moderator in the CC part!! That was a crucial part. I panicked but knew there was nothing I could do. I made my video, put my heart and soul into it and wished for the best. I guess you could say I did the steps in The Secret and “let it go”.

Months and months have passed, and I had gotten no response. I began to feel a little discouraged and then the miracle happened. Today, I began thinking, “I never got a reply for the leadership program. Maybe I did?” That night I checked my email, and guess what? I’m part of the program!!

I had many disadvantages, not having the highest GPA, not following the email instructions correctly and sending it near the last minute. But I imagined it so clearly. I had visualized myself as a part of the group, wearing the club shirt, being part of the meetings. And it happened. I applied against more than 50 people and got in.

For anyone applying to college, a job, or a club. Imagine yourself being there, but visualize yourself so clearly, and believe. It will all work out in the end. This story taught me that you don’t need the highest GPA, or take the hardest classes. Just believe and it will happen.

I hope all of your dreams come true!
