I have used The Secret most of my life, not knowing The Secret. What the DVD and book and CDs did for me, was to constantly remind me to use The Secret. I know it can work for the big events in life, but the little things in life are just as amazing.

I was at my neighbors on a Saturday, at their open house which was not very busy. I sat across the table from the mother, probably in her early 50s, while her daughter who was studying to take the bar,scurried around the kitchen fixing this and that. We were trading “kid” stories, when the daughter came up next to her mother and gently brushed her hair out of her eyes. The mother didn’t even seem to notice the daughters gesture.

I smiled, thinking about my own daughter, only 9, and hoping our relationship would progress the same way. I thought about the gesture often that week, always smiling. About a week later, with no mention of the incident to my daughter, she came up to me at the table, and brushed my hair away from my eyes. And I smiled….
