First of all I would like to thank Rhonda, for enlightening our lives with The Secret.
To begin with my story, I had been following this book since last year, 2013. It was passed on to me by my father. I finished reading it, I understood it but maybe due to the lack of faith, I could not relate it with my life.
Last year, was very tough for me. I was in a very important milestone of my life, my 12th Boards. I am a student of Cambridge International Examination (C.I.E) board and to explain my grievous experience, I had failed in 1 subject out of 4 and that subject was my favorite, Biology.
Well I could not believe it, as I had this fallacy that I am practicing gratitude. I blamed The Secret and tagged it as “It does not work in real life”. Well now I know how wrong I was. I was completely broken, I was in one of the best colleges studying my desired subject. I had gotten admission on the basis of predicted grades. I had a perfect life, but I had to leave it all and come back to my place. It was a harrowing experience altogether.
My Dad on other hand, is a very stern believer in The Secret and he kept on telling me that my implementation was wrong, my approach was incorrect. He requested for me start again and if it didn’t work this time I was free to believe whatever I wanted.
I, as any other student would do, reappeared for my C.I.E. for Biology and on the contrary I kept on reading and listening to The Secret. But this time I could figure out I had focus and I even practiced gratitude in my daily life.
Well, my exams were all good.
Meanwhile, I kept on practicing thanks giving to those people who had wished me luck for my exams. I almost stayed away from my mobile phone so as to not engage into any kind of discussions related to the results and visualized my “Results Day”.
Today my results are out. I am feeling extremely delightful to share it with you all that I did well, and I am very happy.
Now, when I look back and in retrospect, I understand the significance of gratitude and also a big thing, IMPLEMENTATION.
We have read many self-help books, but we tend to lack execution, like saying “meaningful thank yous” and feeling the gratefulness and mostly thinking positive about everything and everybody.
So keep smiling and be positive about everything.
Thank you Rhonda for your book which made me start a year with positive feelings and I believe that each day will get only better.
Thank you.
