All of my life I have been under someone’s thumb. I was a living Cinderella. I was living with my grandmother ever since I was 9 years old. She looked after me and for a long time, life was good. But things have changed. As I was getting older she became more controlling.

For a long time I wanted true love, I would sleep and dream it. Whenever anyone showed any interest, she would cut me down and lie to the guys I was interested in, and this happened for many years because she was afraid of being alone and wanted me to stay with her. To escape, I got married to a man who I thought would be the one – he wasn’t. He was a negative man. He saw fault in everyone and everything, he hated it that I was so positive. But I couldn’t help it, it was just the way I was and still am.

I went to a metaphysical store by my home and saw The Secret. When I started to read, I realized what it was I was doing – I gave him and my grandmother power over my life, and it was time I took it back. I took all that reading to heart and I started to get stronger and stronger. I started to stick up for myself (they hated that). I left my husband and have been divorced for three years a month ago.

I wrote a love list. I had enough of the wrong guys, I just wanted the right one. I was very detailed, right down to the kind of socks he wears, and I put a date on it – October 15.

I went to a place I go online, and had a feeling to get in touch with a friend I had met online back in May. It turns out he was the guy on my list!!! It has been a crazy ride and I’m in love with him already, he and I are very psychic (one of the things on my list). I see him as the father of my children. Yep, this is the man I’m going to marry.
