A Dream Job.
Two years back my husband was offered a job in Australia. I was excited but very worried at the same time. I had a job with a decent income in India. I had heard how difficult it is to get a job in Australia even with permanent residency and I would be on a spousal dependent visa.
It was then that I decided that there wasn’t any point in worrying. My husband and I are both believers in The Secret so we decided to use this powerful tool. I would let the Universe know about the kind of job I wanted and be grateful for it.
There were two companies in Australia that I was interested in and one of those was my dream company, DC. I downloaded a photo of the company building and used it as a wallpaper on my phone. I imagined every day how I would be sitting in a corner desk and looking out of that building. As luck would have had it, I found a job opening in this company and it suited my profile. I applied for it immediately. Unfortunately, within a week I received an email thanking me for my interest but my profile wasn’t suitable. That was a big disappointment.
I then decided to concentrate on the other company, A. This was by no means my dream job but would just do. I sent out my resumes but nothing really happened.
Finally, it was time for us to leave for Australia. After a couple of days from landing, I emailed the director of company A and had an interview the same week. I was offered a contract for a month right there and was asked to start work the following week. No one could believe that I had gotten a job this fast!!
Just when my contract of 1 month was ending, I got a call from a recruiter from DC. They wanted me to interview with them! I was too nervous and did not think I did well. But guess what? Within 2 weeks, I got a call again with a job offer! Their manager who interviewed me was quite impressed and wanted to me start as soon as possible.
Two years later, I am still working for this company. I love my job, my team and the company culture. I will forever be grateful to the Universe for all that I have been given. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
