$494!

I have had several experiences with ‘The Secret” and manifesting wealth, health and experiences into my life but this was the first and most profound encounter I have had with the LOA so far. I am hoping it strikes a chord with you.
It started early one summer while I was working as a first mate on a charter fishing boat on Nantucket Island. It was early in the season, the fish weren’t biting and as a result the boat wasn’t going on any trips; That meant I wasn’t making any tips, my primary income for the season. I felt a familiar pit in my stomach as I watched my savings dwindle and knew my monthly student loan payment of $494 was fast approaching. I recently graduated college and had abruptly come to the realization that these payments weren’t going away anytime soon and would be a constant source of stress for years to come.
At that time I had already become familiar with The Secret but hadn’t consciously put it into action. With plenty of time on my hands and nothing to lose, I decided to put it to work. I decided that instead of letting anxiety and fear overcome me every time I was reminded of the impending doom of these payments, I would simply make the effort to visualize $494 in cash being handed to me by a smiling face whenever I let that familiar thought creep into my mind. It was a challenge at first but I was up to it. So for a couple weeks I made the effort to consciously shift my energy from negative to positive each time I was reminded of that pesky payment. A payment that at that time I could not make.
It was at that 2 week mark of putting the LOA to work that another mate on another boat that I didn’t know very well, approached me out of the blue and asked if I was looking for work. I jumped at the opportunity and promptly met the manager of a local bar that was in need of a bouncer to help with what was going to be a raucous Memorial Day crowd. I took the job, which didn’t pay much, was given a tee-shirt and told to get to the bar that night for what was promised to be “an eventful weekend”. Eventful it was, hundreds of drunk partiers came through the bar doors that weekend and I had a blast! I met a ton of new people that became good friends and I enjoyed myself as much as anyone else at the bar, while on the clock!
At the end of the weekend the bartenders, waitresses and staff all got together for one last night cap in the restaurant kitchen to celebrate a job well done. It was late, I was exhausted, but I never felt better! We were all telling stories and having a good time when the bar manager approached me with an envelope and a smile. He said this was my cut of the tips for the weekend, smiled, patted me on the back and asked me if I would work a few nights a week for the rest of the summer. Which I agreed to do! I put the envelope into my pocket without giving it another thought.
Walking out of the bar late that night to a cool, May, ocean breeze, I remembered the envelope and ripped it open. As I counted up the cash, goosebumps ran up and down my neck. Their was exactly $494 in it!
I had not told anyone about the loan payment I needed to make, or how much it was for. I simply let myself be immersed by the gratitude I would feel when I received it. It was already there, I already had it in my mind, I was just waiting for it to come to me in reality. And it did! Thoughts do become things! Thank you!
