My husband and I live in a nice house, surrounded by wonderful neighbors in a typical neighborhood. We are very happy where we are. However, we have always wanted to have a house that has more light and more land. I can remember that a few years back, I said to him, “When do you think you want to move?” Whatever his response was, I remember calculating in my head that our son would be 5 by the time we moved. I didn’t think of that conversation or that thought again…until 2 days ago.

My mom has always taught my sister and me to have goals, and to write them down and to have a “Dream List”. This year in January, however, is the first year I have written my dream list on huge poster board so I could see it and others could see it every day. The last thing on my Dream List says: “Look for a new house – land, light, view, west.” Land, because I want more land. Light, because I want a house with more natural light. View, because we live in a city with beautiful mountains and I want to see them all the time. West, because we live on the west side of the city, closest to the mountains and closest to our relatives.

Then, in February (4 weeks ago), I started reading the Secret. I never had read it or seen the DVD before. I started manifesting my dream house. I believed it was one right up the street from me, so that is what I visualized. I could feel myself bringing in vegetables from my huge garden. I could see my boys playing in the huge yard and the trees, picking fruit from the trees and looking off the back porch at Pikes Peak (our most beautiful mountain).

A few days later, after reading that I should take inspired action, my husband and I drove around the west side of town to look at the VERY FEW houses with 3/4 of an acre or more. At the very end of our drive, we were on a very hidden street looking for the final house on the list. We passed a row of 4 mail boxes and only saw that…mail boxes. We found the house we were looking for, turned around to go home, passed the mail boxes again and all of a sudden, saw a tiny, hand written “For Sale By Owner” sign. We drove down the only other street in the area to find another hand written sign at the top of the driveway of the house for sale. It said “For Sale. House, Barn, 1 1/2 acres”. We called the number and left a message.

The owner called back that afternoon, she showed us the house 2 days later. It was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. LAND, a full 1.5 acres (nearly unheard of in the city limits), that our boys can play on. A VIEW straight out the front wall of windows looking directly at Pikes Peak. LIGHT, there are skylights and windows everywhere in the house. WEST, it is on the west side of town, just where we want to be.

It was definitely our dream house, dream land and dream location. However, far above our price range, and with the collapse of the mortgage industry and the fact that we are self-employed, we knew we could not get a loan to buy the house.

No problem. I manifested that the seller would sell it to us and would let us make her payments as if she were the bank at a monthly payment that was comfortable to us.
She agreed!

So, 4 weeks after we starting using The Secret, we have found our dream home, in our dream location, and will be moving in 2 weeks!!!
