The first part of this year was financially difficult for me. I’m a freelance writer and I wasn’t seeing much work come my way. I was feeling really stressed, completely lost as to how I could bring my income up and generally, not very happy.

I had practiced the teachings of The Secret for many years, and even took a meditation course on how to manifest desires. It worked for me in other areas of my life, so why wouldn’t it work financially? In March of this year, I picked up The Secret again and decided to put a stop to my misery. I read and re-read the chapter on money, read some of these stories from other  practitioners of The Secret and printed out The Secret check from the Universe. I decided to ask for $10,000.

Days after printing the check, I started to see signs. Shoppers Drug Mart was having a $10,000 contest. A radio program was giving away $10,000 to callers. At first, I put energy into hoping I’d win one of these contests but then I re-routed. I told the Universe that I wanted it to be easy. I didn’t want to have to compete in a contest, I just wanted the money to fall into my lap.

Months went by and I didn’t see any large sums coming my way. My income did get better though, as I started getting work again. As my mood lifted about my finances, even more work started coming my way. Then one day, 6 months later, my dad called me to ask for my bank details. He said it was a surprise, a relative wanted to give me a gift. I was completely confused at first, but then it clicked. My $10,000 was coming to me!! I had no idea how much this gift was meant to be, but I kept thanking the Universe for my gift of $10,000 and kept projecting that this was it. I was getting what I had asked for.

A month later on Friday, October the 13th, I checked my bank account and there, was not $10,000, but $20,000!!! I couldn’t believe it! The Universe had doubled what I had asked for!

I had read so many of these stories and was waiting for it to be me, and now it is! I just want to say a giant thank you to the Universe and Rhonda!! This has taught me to believe 100% and to not stress over ‘how’ my desire will manifest, but to just  believe that it will. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
