Let me being saying the magical words…. “Thank you, Thank you, thank you” Rhonda Byrne…for sharing The Secret, The Power and The Magic!!!!

It’s been sometime that I wanted to share my story….I am sure it can inspire many people and it will also be a starting point for some….so this is for all those who are unsure if the law of attraction is unbiased.

To begin with, I belong to a typical middle class family of Kerala…where we are trained to think that big dreams are for rich people and so on….. I did my higher education in Bangalore and since the time I came here, I have been in love with the city…As soon as I finished my studies I got a job in Bangalore. But due to some reasons, I had to go back to my native city and had to work there as a Lecturer.

In the meantime, my family started looking for suitable alliances…somehow I never liked anyone…they were all typical “mallu” as we call it…It just connotes to someone who is traditional and patriarchal in values and with a moustache, huge body frame and curly oiled hair. More than the physical attributes, I was more worried for the values, beliefs and traditional outlook…which I was sure I couldn’t match…I was completely negative…and was depressed it that all the alliances that came were almost what I dreaded…more and more of similar profiles came…and I kept rejecting…initially my parents didn’t object, but as days rolled into months and even years, my parents started panicking and the blame game slowly began. They started pointing out all the drawbacks that prevented my dreamboy to come into my life such as my dark complexion, short and little plumpy body…I felt miserable!!!

Then, one day I found “The Secret” and read it. I was wonderstruck…but still a little apprehensive. Yet, I thought I will give it a shot. Mind you, I was not fully convinced if it will work for me…it was just for a trial….so I took a notebook and just started writing everything that I wanted in my partner. I just started out with two or three things…but more and more started pouring in, out of nowhere….some of the things that I wrote down are as below:
1. Loving
2. Caring
3. Should love to be with me and help me in whatever I do
4. Open outlook.
5. Must be comfortable talking in English
6. Should have a sweet smile, that I fall flat for:)
7. Someone who works in a private firm and not in a software company, unlike usual.
8. Should be only a max of 5 years elder to me.
9. Must be settled in Bangalore as it is the place I always wanted to go back to.
10. Must have worked abroad – international exposure.
11. Must have a sister.
12. Loves to travel.
13. Loves pani puri and momos (something a typical mallu would not enjoy)
14. Must be good at cooking, as I did not even know to make a cup of tea.
15. Must be willing to patiently teach me cooking.
16. Must know driving.
17. No moustache
18. Does not drink or smoke…(I am totally averse to these)
19. Would love my family as his own
20. Must have plenty of hair on the head (didn’t want a baldy!!!)
21. Must be 5 feet 8 inches (something a person like me who is as short as 5 feet finds it difficult to match)
22. Would find me perfect and beautiful
23. Perfect physique.
24. Brown eyes (this, I thought would be my signboard to recognize him when the universe sends him to me……)

After writing this list, I actually dumped the book somewhere….I didn’t think about it, nor was sure if the universe will deliver this unbelievably desirable guy for me.

It took a few months….and one fine Sunday, I met this guy at my house…a formal meeting with him…and the very first look at him just shook me….exactly the same brown eyes that I had wished for….and when I spoke to him, I understood that he is the one!!! He is exactly 5 feet 8 inches, 4 years older than me, has a younger sister, and was brought up in Chennai. He had worked in Hong Kong, Singapore, China, Malaysia and now in India at Bangalore. He is into denim merchandising and so, not into software engineering. He had thick black hair and had a stylish goatee, no moustache. He was physically fit and does not drink or smoke.

Due to his stay at Hong Kong, China, Singapore, where he lived alone, he knew to cook well and more than that he enjoys cooking. He loved to have pani puri and momos…just like me…I could easily talk to him in English, Hindi or Malayalam…and just like what you thought, I said a yes to him immediately….!!!!

We were married to each other within a month…and let me tell you that now we live in Bangalore….both of us work…he helps me in every little thing I do…be it washing utensils, cleaning the house, drying the cloths, disposing the waste…just everything…we love each other deeply….and he also loves my family….my mother’s frequent stay at our home just validates that…..every day we are falling more and more in love with each other.

If spending a few minutes to write down in detail all that you want, even if you are not 100% convinced can give me 100% what I wanted, why wouldn’t it work for anyone else???? So people, just write it down….make a huge list of your heart’s desire…just let your imaginations go wild….life is truly magical!!!!

And remember the universe only says one thing, YOU WISH IS MY COMMAND!!!!
