Having $3 and needing $10
from Schweinfurt, Germany
I was watching several movies that I rented and finished them. I looked in my wallet and saw only three dollars. I had money on my debt card, but really did not want to use my debt card. Out loud I was saying, "I will rent 4 movies and get a hot chocolate spending only $3," knowing that it would cost roughly 10 dollars for everything. Listening to music and feeling good while repeating, "I will rent 4 movies and get a hot chocolate spending only $3," believing this whole heartily while going to the store to get the items I wanted.
The cashier scanned the first 3 movies and it was almost $6. Right before she scanned the fourth movie the system gave me 50% off. The cashier thought there was something wrong with the system and began to fix the problem. While doing this her manager was watching and said, "No, the system randomly does this for customers." The price went to $3, with two items remaining to be scanned. Movie number 4 made the total $5 and the hot chocolate brought it to $6. Thinking the Universe heard me but got it backwards, saving me $3 instead of spending $3, I was not mad but thankful still. Then the cashier asked me for my card to put stamps on it for renting movies. Beginning to smile I handed her my card; she filled up the remaining spaces. There were 5 empty ones. She was supposed to only do 4 since thatís how many I was renting, but she looked up at me then winked and said, "Itís your lucky day," and stamped the last one. Bringing the total to $4, thanking her I pulled out my $3. Then began looking through my pockets and wallet hoping a dollar would come out of nowhere, someone in line handed me a dollar. Giving the cashier $4 and saying, "You're right, today is a lucky day." Knowing deep down the Universe did heard me.
