Subtle Gratitude at Work
By Peter H.

For the past three years, I've been a waiter at a Japanese restaurant. Typically, I love my job, but recently, I had a spell where I couldn't stand the work. Customers were annoying, money was short, and the whole experience was a chore. This changed immediately the day I decided to show some gratitude to the customers and my boss!
Two weeks ago, I changed my book-keeping methods. I'd be recording any payment transaction, and instead of writing something like "Cash" or "Check" on the receipt, I'd write something like "Cash - Thank you!" Immediately, this put me in a much better spirit, and money and happiness began flowing like water from a tap! Finally, when the day came to a close, and I had to initial for my money, I began writing "Thanks!" next to my initials too, and all the sudden, my job's been kicking out more cash, and keeping me happier!
Thanks so much for the inspiration!
