Surprise, Surprise

I was exposed to The Secret a couple of years ago when my mom showed me the video, after she had watched it. I absolutely adored it! I automatically created my version of a vision-board, a bunch of adjectives and words, to help me envision my future. Now that I think of it, each one of those items listed on that board came true! I was captivated and hungry for more experiences of my dreams coming true. I, sorta, felt like a witch; any wish of mine can become reality! What a marvel!
The most recent of my manifestations was a couple of weeks ago when I competed in Miss Teen Phoenix. This is actually something I never--ever--ever!!--pictured myself doing. Pageants?! God, no! I went to the informational meeting and my mother felt dejavu. I decided I would do this thing for the experience and to reach out to girls if I won. We then went to the training class and I felt dejavu. Weird.
Anyways, I went to the pageant and kicked ass! My mother was not there to watch me on stage but my Russian grandmother didn’t fail her ancestral and cultural duties as a Russian trainer. Talk about tough! Throughout the weeks leading up to the pageant I visualized my best friend Sylvia holding a trophy and myself wearing the crown. Together in the car with our winnings. I felt the feeling of being thankful and beautiful and accomplishing something I did on a whim.
The universe listened because I came home and put my crown on my mother’s head while she lay in bed. She was so proud of me! It was such a feat because there were girls who lived and breathed pageants and were beautiful and perfect and everything! It was so uncalled for when I won, but I did!
The universe is always listening and it’s important to stay positive and actually feel the feeling of being a winner. Because of this, I’m now Miss Teen Phoenix!
