A Home for Mika

Nearly 2 decades ago, I had decided to move into an apartment with a roommate. I found her in the paper. She was quite a spiritual woman and I learned many life lessons from her which until reading The Secret, I had forgotten in recent years.

The one stipulation she had was I could only bring one of my two cats when I moved in. The older of my two cats I had had since she was a kitten, the second, Mika, I had inherited (I seem to attract pets!). It was a very painful decision, but Mika would need a new home. I placed an ad in the paper and thought to myself it would be easier to part with Mika if I knew she was going to a good home. She loved to dash outside and virtually fly into a tree, then jump back down and dash about the yard. I thought to myself it would be so much easier if she were going to live in a home with "a little old lady who lived on a ranch who would love and spoil her".

The day the ad appeared in the paper, I went off to work. When I got home, my roommate told me Mika had been adopted. I was saddened by the news until she told me more. I had never told my roommate about my thoughts of the perfect home for Mika. I asked her who took her. She said a woman had come by and picked her up. When my roommate explained what a wonderful cat Mika was, the woman replied that it was not for her. The cat was for her mother who lived alone on a ranch and needed the company...

In recent years I forgot...I already knew The Secret...now I just have to remember, I believe it! Thank you, Mika...
