From a warning letter to a promotion letter
from Port Louis, Mauritius
I used The Secret in 2010 to land into my dream job - one where I earned all the respect from the bosses and where I would be excited every morning just at the thought of going to work. I loved my job so much that I would always say TGI-Monday!!
Unfortunately, I somehow stopped using The Secret. I had heard so much of complaining that I had become one of the complainers. I no longer woke up with the same excitement in the morning and at the end of each day I would feel so tired and grumpy that I would be mean to everybody around me. This lasted for around a month and as expected my bosses started complaining that I was under - performing. I was further discouraged because all I thought was the amount of work I had done and nobody was recognising my efforts.
Then one of my friends, an ardent follower of the LOA talked to me and told me that no matter what happened, I had to just keep feeling good.
And so, each time I was called to give explanations about my work which I did not perform well, I made myself feel like I was being congratulated. For each email of complaint from the bosses, I felt like they were telling me that my performance had improved. The complaints and emails kept coming and coming... and although I kept my spirit high, I was not really feeling any better. At that point there were no definite improvements as I later realised that I was merely thinking and not really feeling.
After 2 weeks - The CLIMAX. One afternoon, I was called to the meeting room and to my utter shock, I was given a warning letter for my bad performance to the organisation warning me that if I did not improve within 2 months, I would be sacked. I had not realised that the matter had gone so far and that I was so under underperforming.
What I did at that point will always be a mystery to me or maybe there was a force beyond my control. I returned back to my desk, sat down, and told my colleagues that I was being promoted. I behaved as if I was finally being recognised for my efforts. I felt so happy and talked to them on how much the bosses loved me and how much I loved working there.
Next morning, I woke up and said something after a very very long time, I said these words: TGI Monday! (even though it was actually a Thursday) and felt the same happiness and satisfaction I used to feel before.
To cut the long story short, I received my promotion letter after 4 months of receiving a the warning letter. I don't know how I did that, but one thing is for sure is that it would not have been possible without Rhonda and her team. I thank you with all my heart and soul for showing so much love to us.
Thanks to this love, I am now with my soulmate, working in my dream job, living my passion, living each new day with excitement and totally in love with myself and my surroundings.
Thank you god for this life :)
