A very dear friend of mine gifted me with The Secret book. I do not read much and he did not go on about it, just left it with me to read in my own time. As I began to read, I became more aware of my thoughts and of the way I wanted to feel. I began feeling much happier and more peaceful. I began using it with smaller things. One night when a car with a booming stereo parked in front of my house, I changed my annoyance to thoughts of peace and quiet - I deserve peace and quiet, I will have peace and quiet - and a minute later, the music got quieter and the car left.

I won a competition on the radio for my father's birthday by totally believing that my father would win the fabulous ice cream cake. I told the kids, I feel Grandpa is the Winner of the Cake. I know it, I believe, he deserves it. They thought I was nuts. Sure enough, he was chosen as the winner of the ice cream cake for that day!

That evening we set out to travel to my Dad's house out of town, to visit him for his birthday and to share in the FREE ice cream cake he had won. When we arrived in the city where my father lives, I had the idea to stop into a local bank and do SOMETHING to get my credit card debts reduced. I had an old savings account - it was like my secret life's savings. I bit the bullet and took $5000 of my life savings to help reduce a credit card bill. This was a huge decision for me, but I just released it from my savings to the bill, and it felt good. I kept telling myself positive thoughts like the book had outlined. I said, I am a money magnet, I receive money all the time, I have so much money!

We had a lovely visit with my Dad. The kids and I enjoyed the ice cream cake with him, and he just LOVED the card we had chosen for him. When it was time to leave to return home, my Dad handed me a compact brown envelope with his bank's logo on it, and said "This is for you." I thanked him not knowing what it was.

Later, I looked inside the bag to see a thick stack of $100 bills. I was speechless. I counted out the bills - FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS! The exact amount of my life savings that I had released only a few hours earlier and it had come back into my life the very same day! I phoned my Dad to thank him and told him of The Secret book and all the day's events. I asked him, how did you decide on $5000, why $5000? He calmly replied that the human mind is a powerful thing!

Two days later, after writing myself a check from the Universe, my grandmother gave me a check for $2000 to spend on myself. I needed a new car and so I cut out a picture of a Dodge Calibre and pasted it on the window so it looked like it was in my driveway when I did the dishes. As a joke, I applied for some low income loans. Usually I am rejected but I opened my account and the money was there. And now the car really is in my driveway!

I do feel like a millionaire, I honestly do, and it shows! I smile all the time, I'm happy, I feel great! I believe that I actually am a Money Magnet!
